Prof. Atu Ausaji Ayuk

Prof.Dr. rer. nat. Atu Ausaji Ayuk is a holder of a Heidelberg German Diploma, plus B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. {(Saarland) and D.Sc. (Berlin) Germany}. Dr. Atu Ausaji Ayuk is currently a Professor of Quantum and Theoretical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry, School of Physical Sciences, Federal University of Technology, Owerri

Born on the 9th July 1948 to the family of papa Daniel Ausaji Ayuk and mama Nancy Ntau Ayuk (nee Bebia) both of blessed memory, Atu Ayuk is a native of Bendeghe Community in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. His early education was at St. Benedict’s Primary School, Ogoja (1954-1960). Proceeded to Ikom County Secondary School (1961-1964) and later to New Bethel College, Onitsha where he completed his Secondary education with a Division one West African School Certificate in 1966. He subsequently attended the Government Secondary School, Afikpo and Federal School of Science, Onikan, Lagos (1968-69) for his Higher School Certificate and Advanced Level GCE. By 1970 he secured admission to the University of Ibadan and enrolled for a degree programme. He sought and secured a post-doctoral Fellowship (Eugene Peter Wigner [Nobel laureate] Fellow) in 1982 for a one year exposure (1982-1983) at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia.

A seasoned teacher and researcher, Prof. Atu Ausaji Ayuk is registered and current member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria, Member American Chemical Society, Member, Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria and a Chartered and Licensed Chemist of repute.
