Dr. K.N. Nwaigwe
Dr Kevin Nnanye Nwaigwe started his academic career as a Research Associate at the University of Port Harcourt from where he moved to Federal University of Technology Owerri rising to the rank of Senior Lecturer. He holds a BEng degree in Farmpower and Machinery Engineering from Federal University of Technology Owerri, MEng in Mechanical Engineering from University of Port Harcourt and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University of Technology Owerri. He then proceeded to a visiting postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of South Africa. His primary research focus is Energy and Power Engineering.
Dr Nwaigwe’s research has led to over 27 scholarly articles in various prestigious international journals. He holds membership with several international professional organizations including American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, Nigeria Society of Engineers, South African Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Nigeria Institution of Mechanical Engineers, South African Institution of Occupational Health and Safety, among others. He is a registered engineer with the Council for the regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Dr Nwaigwe has served in the editorial board of several journals; including serving as reviewer for several international journals. He has made several presentations at international conferences including serving as Keynote speaker to the 4th International Conference on Advances in Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has also served as session chair/organiser to ASME Energy and Power conference.
Dr Nwaigwe has served as departmental postgraduate programme co-ordinator and has supervised over five postgraduate students (MEng and PhD); with many more under supervision. Among various other grants, he is a National Research Foundation (NRF) grant holder.
